Starbucks is changing the flavor with its new refreshers, CEO Brian Niccol says. 🥤
36 segments
When was the last [music] time we went
to Starbucks? Because you may have
noticed these colorful additions to the
menu like [music] a blue coconut energy
refresher or a butterfly drink. This is
actually what's driving same source
sales growth at [music] Starbucks. In
the last quarter, not only did these
innovations really drive same source
sales growth, but [music] it also drove
more people in the doors. And year to
date, Starbucks stock is actually
[music] up more than 25%.
But with all these latest additions to
the menu, I asked Starbucks CEO Brian
Nickel, "How do you exactly ensure that
you're not creating the menu to [music]
be too overly complex for baristas?"
Here's what he said.
>> You know, the reality is what we want to
do is make sure these drinks are built
in a standard way. So that orange cream
cold brew is actually no change in
[music] how you handle cold brew and no
change in how we do our cold foam. It's
just changing the flavor that goes into
the cold foam. We have to have the
discipline that when [music] a drink
doesn't perform consistently, you have
to have the plan to remove it. And then
ultimately, we'll find what is the right
replacement to put back onto [music] the
menu.
>> Have you tried the new drinks on the
menu?
Yeah, I'm going with that
