fixed head coupe. Very historic car. So

0:19

it went to the Geneva show. Um it

0:21

subsequently did the Frankfurt show. It

0:23

was then bought by an American

0:25

serviceman in Germany who ran it for a

0:27

few years. Uh and then he took it home

0:29

to California. Few years later it turned

0:32

up in Florida painted red with white

0:34

wall tires, original color silver. Um

0:37

then it was found with a it was found

0:39

under a tree. Um and then it headed down

0:42

to Australia for part restoration. Um

0:50

bought it. It came back to the UK and it

0:53

was restored in 2013 for the 2014 Pebble

got massive great book which the

1:02

previous restoers uh created with lots

1:04

of original photographs and original

1:07

documents, photos of it on the Geneva

stand. So, yeah, really uh really

1:11

interesting car and we've been entrusted

1:13

with uh giving it a full respray. So,

1:16

big big job. Um but yeah, we're very

1:18

privileged that the new owner or the

1:21

current owner after Pebble Beach has

1:23

entrusted that to us and uh the

1:25

intention we hope is it will be at um

Interactive Summary

This video discusses a historic 1951 Jaguar XK120 fixed head coupe, which was the first left-hand drive of its kind and a show car at both the Geneva and Frankfurt exhibitions. The car had a storied past, traveling from Germany to California, then Florida where its original silver paint was replaced with red and whitewall tires, and later found under a tree. After an attempted restoration in Australia, it returned to the UK, where it was fully restored in 2013 and won its class at the 2014 Pebble Beach show. Currently, the car is undergoing a full respray, with plans for it to be exhibited at Salon Penim at the end of August.
