All right, guys. We're back in the

0:02

dungeon. Thought I'd whip out the

0:03

whiteboard today to give you guys a

0:04

video on the only hormones that I really

0:06

focus on when it comes to transforming

0:08

from the inside out. So, it doesn't

0:10

matter if you want to get shredded,

0:12

diced, sub 10% body fat with a six-pack,

0:15

veins, and all that, or if you want to

0:16

pack on another 10 or 20 pounds of

0:18

muscle, get jacked completely naturally.

0:21

this video is going to help you because

0:23

having a hormones first mentality

0:26

definitely sets you up for success in

0:28

terms of your energy, vitality, brain

0:30

power, mental focus, but especially your

0:33

physique, too. And um I've made other

0:36

videos on this. Just real quick, why

0:38

hormones? Um I find that a lot of people

0:41

that get into this health and fitness

0:43

game, they're going about it the wrong

0:44

way. They're trying to do hard work and

0:47

not smart and hard work. So, a lot of

0:50

people think about manipulating their

0:52

body composition in more of an external

0:54

way and they just try to exert their

0:56

body as much as they possibly can with

0:58

more exercise. Um, or they try to and or

1:03

they try to eat very little food and

1:06

undereat so they can undercut their

1:08

metabolism in order to shred down,

1:10

right? So, they're moving more and

1:12

eating less. I think that's BS. You

1:15

should try to move less and eat more.

1:17

Not that I'm anti-training. I train

1:19

three days a week every week and I stay

1:21

consistent doing that and I have the the

1:23

right workouts to support my hormones

1:26

and also, you know, for flexibility and

1:28

and consistency and getting myself

1:30

addicted to those workouts, right? But

1:32

there's a certain point where you're

1:34

going to get diminishing returns. And if

1:36

you have an actual life, like you have a

1:38

career where it's a, you know, you have

1:40

to focus on your performance, a lot of

1:42

people are pulling you in all sorts of

1:44

different directions or you got a family

1:46

or you got other uh extracurricular

1:49

activities that you're involved in

1:50

outside of the gym and outside of your

1:52

job. You can't be in the gym six days a

1:54

week because it's not just the gym. It's

1:56

like getting dressed, getting in the

1:58

car, driving over to the gym, getting

2:00

warmed up, working out, winding down,

2:02

getting undressed, getting in the car,

2:04

driving back home, and then get back

2:05

getting back to your day. You probably

2:06

have to shower and stuff like that. Um,

2:09

so it just it's it's something where

2:11

there's a consistency thing, but there's

2:13

also like a practicality issue. And you

2:16

know, just beating the heck out of

2:18

yourself and eating very little is not a

2:20

very practical or sustainable plan of

2:23

attack. hormones first has you focusing

2:26

on the machine instead of the you know

2:28

the working the machine right so if you

2:31

you take care of the machine it can work

2:33

better it can it can you know do more

2:36

for you with less real effort because

2:38

you're just focused on the process from

2:40

within internal versus external the um

2:44

you know in the in one of the last

2:45

videos that I have on this channel I was

2:46

mentioning that uh you know just trying

2:49

to work out more and eat less is kind of

2:51

like trying to uh you know, save your

2:54

way to get rich where you're just trying

2:56

to cut costs wherever you can and work

2:58

more hours at your crappy job instead of

3:00

finding a better uh job where you can

3:04

make more money with less time which

3:06

will be less taxing on your uh on your

3:09

performance and your energy so you can

3:11

actually maintain that system that

3:14

you're following long term because a lot

3:16

of people that do the David Gogggins

3:18

thing and no disrespect David Gogggins

3:20

he's super super inspiring and whatnot

3:22

but it's just not practical for me and

3:24

for most people, right? Like, I love the

3:27

gym, but I don't want to be in the gym

3:29

all the time. I don't need to run a

3:30

marathon at 2 a.m. and stuff. Again,

3:32

super inspired. We can all take pieces

3:34

and and, you know, parts from that that

3:36

we can uh, you know, implement in our

3:37

own lives. But getting back to the

3:39

hormones first thing, um the the thing

3:43

that I think most people are missing is

3:46

they're focusing on, okay, how can I

3:48

just burn more calories? Where I don't

3:51

know if people understand this, but you

3:53

can burn more calories regardless of

3:56

exercise. Let me say that again. You can

3:59

burn more calories regardless of

4:03

exercise and your energy expenditure.

4:05

Like, yeah, you don't have to work out

4:07

seven days a week, but you also don't

4:09

have to uh you don't have to walk for

4:11

two to three hours every day either. I

4:14

have a lot of clients that have come to

4:15

me and said, "If I don't hit my 10k

4:16

steps, I feel like I'm going to be fat."

4:18

That's that's stupid. You know, the

4:20

first time I locked in on anabolic

4:22

priming, which is this hormones first

4:24

mentality, um I it was like over the

4:26

winter, and I'm in upstate New York, so

4:29

it's freezing cold. I'm not walking

4:30

around for two hours out in the cold

4:32

every single day and I don't have like a

4:34

a treadmill at my house. I don't have

4:36

the the whole uh you know standing desk

4:38

and the treadmill setup at my house.

4:40

Maybe I could, but I just like haven't

4:41

really felt the necessary to do that. Um

4:44

but I was able to you know pack on like

4:46

15 pounds over the course of five six

4:48

months and get even leaner in the

4:49

process without much energy expenditure

4:52

on top of my three workouts a week.

4:54

Right? So why why did that happen? It

4:57

was because I focused on nurturing my

5:00

hormonal health. And I keep saying

5:01

hormonal health. What am I really

5:03

referring to? I don't I don't think a

5:06

lot of people think [snorts] about this

5:08

either. Like what are we trying to do in

5:12

in terms of um you know, moving more and

5:14

eating less. We're trying to create a

5:17

calorie deficit to get lean, right? I

5:19

think that's what a lot of people are

5:20

after. So they in one way, shape, or

5:24

form, you're gonna have to undermine

5:25

your metabolism, right? Like I've had

5:27

that video about how to um escape escape

5:29

the calorie counting rat race. Say your

5:32

metabolism is here, you need to eat less

5:35

calories to create a gap in which your

5:38

body will pull from your fat stores for

5:40

energy. So, knowing that your metabolism

5:43

is kind of what sets the bar for how

5:47

little that you're going to have to eat,

5:48

why wouldn't you focus on increasing

5:51

that amount that you're burning? You

5:53

know, increasing your metabolism,

5:55

increasing the amount of energy that

5:57

you're burning on a day-to-day basis.

5:59

And you can do this without walking 10k

6:01

steps every day, without working out

6:03

seven days a week, doing all this

6:05

running or hitting the stair mass or all

6:06

these brutal forms of cardio that nobody

6:08

likes doing, right? Like over the summer

6:10

I'm playing football with friends on the

6:12

beach. We're going swimming. Little bit

6:14

of Muay Thai in the backyard. Like stuff

6:17

like that I'm all about. I'm not doing a

6:19

brutal cardio session mutilating myself.

6:21

That's not fun to me. I like just

6:22

crushing PRs in the gym getting addicted

6:24

to the high of hitting those personal

6:26

records. But that's only three times a

6:28

week. You only really need an hour every

6:29

week. So an hour every workout. So it's

6:32

like three hours a week at the at the

6:34

absolute uh max that you would really

6:37

need. Right. So again getting back to

6:39

the metabolism thing, what what is your

6:42

metabolism at the mercy of? It's your

6:45

hormones, right? You and and what is it

6:49

more specifically? Largely it comes down

6:51

to your thyroid, your thyroid health,

6:54

right? So, by nurturing your hormones

6:57

and nurturing your thyroid health, if

6:59

your thyroid is firing hotter and hotter

7:02

and hotter, then you're going to burn

7:04

more calories regardless of the

7:07

exercise, right? There's a certain you

7:09

you can't not work out. That's that's

7:12

something um I mean, plenty of people

7:14

survive without working out, but what

7:16

I'm saying here is is to truly optimize

7:18

your hormones, you want to be working

7:20

out. And if you're watching this

7:21

channel, like you're definitely working

7:22

out, right? Um, most guys that come to

7:24

me in my coaching program, I got to

7:26

like, you know, play a game of tug and

7:27

war with them to to get them to let go

7:29

of the five or six day a week workout

7:31

plan. Three days a week is all that you

7:33

need. Um, I didn't know this until I

7:35

started working with my my mentor Lucas

7:38

Owen, but 3 to four days a week of heavy

7:41

weight training is the best workout

7:43

schedule for testosterone production.

7:46

Um, your testosterone I is going to

7:48

affect your metabolism because it's very

7:50

intertwined in your hormonal function,

7:52

which you know, same same deal with your

7:54

thyroid. Um, but I've been working out

7:56

like this for the last like nine years

7:58

at this point. It makes a lot of sense

7:59

when I look back at my history because I

8:01

was training three days a week. And

8:03

yeah, I guess you could do four, but

8:04

it's undoubtedly easier to hit three

8:07

days a week versus four, right? Monday,

8:09

Wednesday, Friday, you get weekends off,

8:11

day of rest in between all workouts so

8:12

that not only your muscles recover, but

8:14

your your local nerves recover and

8:16

everything. Um, [snorts] that's a sweet

8:18

spot, at least for me. And, um, so

8:20

anyway, getting back to the hormones

8:22

thing, your thyroid is what we need to

8:25

improve. Your thyroid and your overall

8:27

hormonal function is going to help you

8:30

uh, burn more calories and really stoke

8:32

that metabolic flame, so to speak,

8:34

right? And I do this with what I I like

8:37

to call anabolic priming. And what this

8:40

comes down to is increasing the anabolic

8:44

hormones. You know, priming these

8:45

anabolic hormones are your uh

8:47

reproductive hormones, your fertility

8:49

hormones, and lowering stress hormones,

8:53

right? The the catabolic hormones, so to

8:55

speak. So, what are most guys doing

8:58

today? They're stressing themselves the

8:59

hell out. Like, think back to David

9:01

Gogggins. Yeah, dude's locked in. But

9:03

dude, if you know, if you're not on

9:05

steroids, if you're a natural lifter, if

9:07

you don't want to shoot in your

9:08

butt and you know, um you don't want to

9:11

uh you don't want to swallow a bunch of

9:13

pills all day long, right? Not that I'm

9:16

not not that I'm against supplements,

9:18

right? But you don't want to take all

9:19

these synthetic compounds and stuff.

9:21

What are you going to do? Like, you

9:23

can't recover from that amount of

9:25

training, especially if you're going

9:27

balls to the wall like you should be

9:28

three days a week. Yeah. you you give

9:31

your muscles time to recover over 24

9:33

hours, but your local nerves again going

9:35

throughout your entire body are what's

9:37

really moving everything and those need

9:38

48 hours to recover. So by giving your

9:42

body the proper hormonal uh you know

9:44

stress that central nervous system

9:46

stress in you know some heavy lifting

9:48

workouts um not that I do powerlifting

9:51

it's more like a moderate uh you know

9:53

training program but [snorts]

9:55

doing that three times a week and giving

9:57

your body the room to recover from that

9:59

you're going to be able to uh have a

10:02

better state of health. You won't be so

10:03

fatigued and so stressed all the time.

10:05

your body can't really catch up working

10:08

out hard seven days a week, right? Um,

10:11

so anyway, getting back to the the

10:13

stress thing, you want to keep stress as

10:16

in check. It's not about having zero

10:18

stress, right? Your your cortisol, for

10:20

example, has a purpose. You don't want

10:23

zero cortisol, but um, you definitely

10:26

don't want it high. And that's what I

10:27

find a lot of people are dealing with

10:29

nowadays. Um, and yeah, mo most people

10:33

they have high estrogen, high cortisol,

10:35

and all these these like stressful

10:37

hormones which are really just

10:39

feminizing them, but also dampening

10:42

their potential for muscle growth, for

10:44

fat loss, uh, but also just for like how

10:46

they feel on a day-to-day basis. Because

10:49

is getting the physique the most

10:51

important thing? No. Because otherwise

10:53

everybody would be a bodybuilder feeling

10:55

like crap all the time, anxious and

10:57

depressed with all these like identity

10:59

issues, body dysmorphia. That's not

11:01

where we want to be, right? So these

11:03

guys over here, they've got aesthetics

11:05

because they're mutilating themselves,

11:07

forcing their way to their to their um

11:10

to their goal, right? And then over

11:12

here, I like to make fun of my holistic

11:14

crowd all the time. I love these guys,

11:15

but I'm not going to be sunning my balls

11:18

on the beach in a loin cloth, long ass

11:20

hair, looking emaciated, right? Yeah,

11:23

maybe you're super vital. Maybe you feel

11:25

amazing, but you don't look how I want

11:26

to look. I want to look like these guys,

11:28

but feel like these guys. So, you want

11:30

to be in the middle. And you do that by

11:32

taking something from both ends of the

11:34

spectrum, right? Like a lot of the old

11:36

school uh bodybuilders, they actually

11:39

did focus more on hormones. I think they

11:41

went a little synthetic with it, if you

11:42

know what I'm saying. But [snorts]

11:44

they were nurturing their hormonal

11:46

health through heavy lifting, you know,

11:48

three or four times a week. And they

11:50

were eating a holistic diet, eggs, raw

11:53

milk, steak, getting sunlight, all these

11:56

things that we really all should do.

11:58

It's not about getting on the hamster

12:00

wheel and, you know, drinking two

12:02

gallons of water a day, eating chicken,

12:04

rice, and veggie, you know, disgusting,

12:06

bland diet that nobody gets excited

12:08

about. You want to live and be a human,

12:11

but you want to have, you know, ancient

12:12

principles to whatever your process is.

12:15

And still, there's going to be a modern

12:16

edge to that. And that's where we dip

12:17

our toes into like biohacking and stuff.

12:19

But biohacking at the end of the day is

12:21

just about being a human. It might be

12:23

looking at it from the wrong angle. And

12:25

I think that's where the the biohackers

12:27

go wrong. But what's a biohack? Going

12:29

outside and getting sunlight in your

12:30

eyes. Come on. But anyway, getting back

12:33

to these hormones, I want to go over

12:35

which hormones that you want to actually

12:38

focus on. And I know we're already like

12:40

12 minutes in here, but um let's talk

12:42

about the stress hormones. The ones that

12:44

you want to you want to focus on

12:46

lowering. And the reason I'm saying

12:47

lowering is because everybody is running

12:49

rampant with these. The they basically

12:52

they're they're stress maxing, so to

12:55

speak. So, let's let's break this up

12:57

into stress hormones and reproductive

13:00

hormones. So the stress hormones,

13:03

let's do this.

13:06

Stress hormones.

13:10

Um the first one is going to be

13:11

cortisol. Right now cortisol is

13:14

important. That's why you wake up in the

13:16

morning. That's why you're able to think

13:18

straight. It's why you got mental

13:19

clarity. You know, that's what gives you

13:21

energy. You know, it that's that's what

13:23

saves you in a life and death scenario.

13:25

Now, this is the problem. I've seen a um

13:28

what is it called? a it was like a TEDex

13:30

talk talking about um you know your your

13:33

your body's natural processes and like

13:37

how how important it is that you have

13:39

these like you know shots of adrenaline

13:42

and cortisol in life and death

13:43

scenarios. They talked about how like if

13:45

a bear is like in your backyard when

13:48

you're sitting there on your patio or

13:50

whatever, like you getting stressed and

13:51

getting up and running away back into

13:53

your house or getting your gun or

13:54

whatever, like that's great. But if that

13:58

stress response is hitting you daily

14:00

because you're in a you know uh position

14:02

in like a bad relationship or you're

14:04

working a really stressful job um or

14:08

you're just like constantly putting

14:10

yourself in positions that are like

14:11

antagonizing you um you know without

14:14

good reason like that that stress

14:17

response of the you know the bear being

14:20

in your backyard like if the bear is

14:23

coming home every single day that's not

14:25

a good thing and that's what that TEDex

14:27

talk went over. I don't know who the

14:28

speaker was, but you want to keep

14:30

cortisol in check. It's useful. Like

14:33

that's that's why um you know that's why

14:35

waking up in the morning having coffee

14:37

and using that to like you know get some

14:39

some mental acuity so I can be super

14:41

productive in my most creative state

14:42

throughout the entire day. But we don't

14:45

need to be so you know obsessed with our

14:48

physique. We don't need to be so, you

14:50

know, so uh like we don't need to be

14:54

overex exercising and like not being

14:56

able to recover cuz it's not just the

14:58

gym. It's like your career, it's your

15:00

family, it's your kids, it's you know

15:02

everybody outside of that you you got to

15:05

we got to live in the world at the end

15:06

of the day and life is stressful. So

15:08

keeping cortisol in check is going to be

15:10

huge. The other one I would say and um

15:14

this is just how I think about it.

15:17

Estrogen.

15:20

So one way or another estrogen is a

15:23

stress hormone to me right maybe not

15:25

scientifically definition it's a stress

15:28

hormone but at the end of the day that's

15:31

how it affects your body. It's a

15:33

stressful uh and antagonistic

15:37

hormone when it comes to what what was

15:39

important,

15:41

your thyroid, right? If your thyroid is

15:43

what controls your metabolism, anything

15:45

that goes against the thyroid um and not

15:48

that these things go against it because

15:50

they all work in your hormone economy,

15:52

so to speak, [snorts] but anything that

15:54

hurts your your thyroid is not going to

15:57

be anabolic, so to speak. It's not going

15:59

to be putting you in a position to where

16:01

the cup runth over in terms of your

16:04

energy production. That's where you want

16:05

to be. You don't want to be saving your

16:07

way to get rich. You want to be boosting

16:09

your income so that you have more to

16:11

play with and the pressure is off, so to

16:13

speak, right? So estrogen is another

16:16

thing that I think a lot of people are

16:17

dealing with. I just talked to a guy the

16:19

other day. I'm pretty sure his estrogen

16:20

is through the roof because yeah, his

16:22

testosterone might be high and um you

16:24

know, not saying this happened to him,

16:25

but if you do stuff like TRT or you

16:28

know, anabolic steroids or uh you know,

16:32

some some other peeds, SARMMS, anything

16:34

like that, with that massive increase in

16:36

testosterone, a certain percentage of it

16:38

is going to get converted into estrogen

16:41

through a process called aromatase. This

16:43

is why I take stuff like bee pollen,

16:45

right? or um you know zinc can can block

16:49

aromatase. Um all all these other all

16:52

these other things that you want to keep

16:53

in check as well. It's like you know

16:55

with testosterone is going to come a

16:56

little bit of estrogen. So you got to

16:58

keep that in check. But also just the

16:59

way that people live their lives

17:01

nowadays. It's like estrogen maxing.

17:03

Making decisions. You know living

17:06

a non-purposeful life. Unpurposeful. I

17:09

don't know what the word is, but um

17:11

doing things that aren't exciting or

17:12

aren't worthwhile and they're just

17:14

falling in line with the status quo,

17:17

doing what everybody else says to do,

17:20

voluntary or involuntary, like passively

17:22

or or you know, um basically just

17:26

letting other people call the shots.

17:28

That's why I had that last video like if

17:29

if you can't tell who's in charge when

17:32

you walk into a room, assume it's you.

17:34

You don't want to be at the whim of the

17:36

world. And most guys today who are

17:38

either, you know, watching the P-word

17:41

or, you know, they're they're working a

17:43

job that is unfulfilling or they're in a

17:46

relationship with where the chick is

17:47

like ordering them around and stuff and

17:49

they're trying to like dance around the

17:51

bear so to speak and like just like

17:55

doing everything for everybody else,

17:57

people pleasing. I'm not talking about

18:00

serving is a bad thing. and being a, you

18:02

know, being a provider and taking care

18:05

of your flock, like that's very

18:06

important, but there's a certain there's

18:09

a certain vibe that's going on that's

18:11

offkilter and estrogen is usually

18:14

increased in those situations. And it's

18:18

kind of like a uh a feedback loop,

18:20

right? the more estrogen that you have,

18:21

the more that you participate in those,

18:24

you know, dumb decisions and dumb uh

18:26

dumb interactions in terms of like who

18:29

who's calling the shots and whatnot. And

18:32

that increases estrogen, right? So, you

18:35

want to get into a feedback loop where

18:37

it's a positive thing like more more

18:39

testosterone, more of these other

18:41

anabolic hormones which will affect your

18:44

uh not only your your physique and your

18:46

energy and stuff, but also your

18:47

behavior. They found there's a study

18:49

that shows that people who have higher

18:51

testosterone lie less and they're more

18:53

willing to stand up for people in a

18:56

negative position. Like people at a

18:58

disadvantage, you will stand up for

19:00

those people if you have higher

19:01

testosterone. Right? So that's that's

19:04

why this is really important in a

19:06

philosophical way. This this problem of

19:09

men's testosterone going down over the

19:11

last 30 years precipitously. and you if

19:14

you're 18 years old today, you have the

19:15

same testosterone as like a 70-year-old

19:17

man 60 years ago. That's an issue for

19:20

like world geopolitics and stuff like

19:23

that. Another video. We'll leave that to

19:25

the side. Um, other one that I would

19:27

worry about too, and I'll get to why

19:29

this is, you know, another thing that

19:30

you need to keep in mind, prolactin.

19:36

So, there's other stress hormones that

19:38

that um we could talk about and

19:43

you know there there's a ton that you

19:46

could talk about. These are the ones

19:47

that I'm focusing on. Prolactin

19:49

specifically um because it's it's

19:54

so intertwined in your energy and like

19:57

your your mental capacity. Um, when you

20:00

ejaculate, so to speak, you have sex

20:02

with your wife, hopefully, not your

20:05

hand. When you ejaculate, you get a

20:07

brain dump of prolactin, and that's why

20:09

you feel like kind of kind of like

20:11

sleepy, groggy, lethargic. Yeah, maybe

20:13

you feel a little bit happy for a

20:14

second. That was mainly the uh the

20:16

dopamine. Um, but when when the

20:18

prolactin spikes or the prolactin is

20:21

elevated, you're not going to have that

20:22

same drive, that same pizzazz that you

20:25

usually have. You're not going to be,

20:26

you know, trying to, uh, make more

20:28

money. You're not trying to get after it

20:30

in the day. You're not going to want to

20:32

go and, you know, uh, perform in the gym

20:36

or, you know, perform in your your daily

20:38

life, like whatever part of the puzzle

20:39

that you play. Um, you're not going to

20:42

step up for that occasion because

20:44

prolactin is abnormally elevated because

20:46

it has an inverse relationship with

20:49

dopamine. So, let's talk about some of

20:52

these more uh you know reproductive

20:55

hormones or these these uh people talk

20:58

talk about them as like protective

21:00

hormones sometimes. I think that's

21:01

that's a good way of thinking about it.

21:02

I'll just call these reproductive.

21:05

So, reproductive

21:12

and

21:14

these terms might not work perfectly. I

21:17

don't really care. This is just an easy

21:19

way to think about it. This is a crash

21:20

course again. So, let's talk about uh

21:23

reproductive hormones. The one that I

21:25

wanted to just talk about real quick is

21:27

dopamine. So, dopamine is a lot more

21:30

important than people think. It gets a

21:32

bad rap because uh you know, when you're

21:35

on social media, you're watching reals,

21:38

you're watching the P word, if you know

21:39

what I'm saying. Um you're you're eating

21:42

bad food, junk food, and stuff like

21:44

that, you get like a dopamine hit. And

21:46

that's what's addictive. It's that quick

21:48

short-term gratification. And the

21:50

problem with this in these short-term

21:52

gratifications

21:54

is that it lowers your base dopamine

21:57

levels. So, ironically, you actually do

22:00

want more dopamine because it has an

22:03

inverse relationship with prolactin. So,

22:06

when one is high, the other is low and

22:08

vice versa. Right now, dopamine will

22:11

have an effect on your testosterone

22:12

because of the dopamineergic process.

22:15

Um, I won't go too much into that right

22:17

now, but basically, if your dopamine is

22:19

in a good spot, you're going to be in a

22:21

better spot to have higher testosterone,

22:23

which will make sure that your whole

22:25

entire uh hormonal function is working

22:28

properly, which is just going to lead

22:29

you to a better thyroid health, which is

22:31

what controls your your metabolism,

22:33

right? So, let's real quick talk about

22:35

some other ones. Um, I think it's safe

22:38

to say testosterone is at the top of the

22:41

list. Testosterone

22:45

And let's just put thyroid right here.

22:49

Now, thyroid has a couple of different

22:52

uh hormones. Mainly, I would look at T3

22:56

and there's T4 as well. T3 is the one

22:59

that um really matters. That's that's

23:02

what going to help you metabolize any of

23:05

the food that you're eating and and you

23:06

know, convert it into energy and

23:07

whatnot. Um, [snorts]

23:09

there's T4, which gets converted into

23:12

T3, and then there's like reverse T3.

23:15

There's a bunch of different hormones

23:16

there. All I need you to focus on is

23:18

that your thyroid is largely what

23:21

controls your metabolism. But it's not

23:23

only that. Your thyroid is very

23:24

intertwined to your mood, your energy,

23:26

your focus. You'll see there's a lot of

23:29

overlap between all these things. And

23:31

you don't need to go crazy regarding

23:34

hormones. You just need to have a couple

23:35

of things in mind. And these are the

23:36

ones that I'm focusing on. Another one

23:38

that I would really highly encourage you

23:40

to focus on too is DHT.

23:45

So DHT

23:48

is like testosterone's big brother,

23:52

dihydrotestosterone.

23:54

So DHT gets demonized, but DHT is

23:59

actually the true male hormone if you

24:02

think about it. So people um and myself

24:05

included they they really talk up

24:07

testosterone and that's largely because

24:09

people are really focused on that and

24:10

testosterone is good but focusing only

24:14

on testosterone is not really you know

24:17

the end goal like you want to have high

24:19

DHT and high testosterone better thyroid

24:22

and you know keeping your your cortisol

24:24

estrogen prolactin in check and all the

24:26

other you know anabolic and catabolic

24:27

hormones right so DHT you could like

24:31

this is the analogy I like to think

24:33

about. Think of DHT, which is far more

24:36

powerful than testosterone, by the way.

24:37

It's the true male hormone, which is why

24:39

you have facial hair. It's why your

24:41

voice is as deep as it is, why you're as

24:43

tall as you are. Um, and it it actually

24:46

really affects your behavior. So, these

24:48

these DHT suppressing uh medications

24:52

that people use for hair loss and stuff,

24:54

it usually feminizes guys. And um so

24:59

anyway, the the analogy that I wanted to

25:01

give you is that um testosterone, if

25:06

you're only focused on boosting

25:08

testosterone, like if you're on TRT or

25:10

SARMMS or other peeds that skyrocket

25:13

your your uh your testosterone, super

25:16

super physiological levels of

25:18

testosterone, you're going to be like a

25:20

little yappy chihuahua that's all talk

25:23

and no real game, right? like you you're

25:26

just an annoyance, a nuisance to

25:29

society. Think of the people that are

25:31

like abusing testosterone, they're

25:33

usually the worst. They're not

25:34

necessarily the the true uh patriarch,

25:39

if you will, the uh you know, and and if

25:42

testosterone is like the yappy dog, so

25:46

to speak, the yappy little Chihuahua

25:47

that like pukes in your girl's purse,

25:49

then DHT is like that giant great dane,

25:52

that big ass dog that could murder you,

25:56

but loves you with all his heart. And

25:59

he's not he doesn't bite you or

26:00

anything. So, it's like the gentle

26:02

giant, so to speak. And it's not that

26:04

he's harmless. It's just like he he's

26:06

more grounded. He's more he's got more

26:09

resolve. He's got more um more presence,

26:12

more stability, so to speak, and and a

26:14

lot more power. There's a difference

26:16

between power and force. And I find a

26:18

lot of people that are only focused on

26:20

testosterone, they're trying to force

26:21

things. If you're only focused on

26:23

testosterone and neglecting all the

26:26

other pieces of your hormone economy,

26:28

it's kind of like, you know, if you have

26:30

a car, right? If you're only focused on

26:33

the engine and neglecting the

26:36

transmission, the drive shaft, you know,

26:39

fuel lines, all these other things that

26:40

make the car work, you're really

26:42

shooting yourself in the foot.

26:43

Testosterone very important. And by

26:45

boosting testosterone, you focus on a

26:47

lot of the other things that will um,

26:50

you know, that will improve your overall

26:52

health as well. But specifically only

26:56

going for testosterone all the time and

26:58

neglecting other things is really going

27:00

to put you in a in a damper, right? So

27:03

DHT definitely has an effect on your

27:05

metabolism. Um, dopamine will improve

27:08

testosterone

27:10

um and you know just your life in

27:11

general. It's not just about having a

27:14

higher metabolism, but the things that

27:15

come with a higher metabolism usually

27:17

make us feel better, right? So, it's not

27:19

just physique. It's about having

27:22

rockstar energy, feeling like Jack

27:25

Einstein, so to speak. Better mental

27:26

clarity, better mood, better presence.

27:29

And this is, I think, the whole the

27:32

whole reason that I want people to focus

27:35

on their hormones is because everybody's

27:37

thinking so externally. Everybody's

27:39

trying to live like a bodybuilder or

27:41

live like David Gogggins or whatever and

27:43

they're focusing too much on like the

27:45

willpower and the the um you know the

27:48

the reps and the sets instead of setting

27:51

yourself up uh to like make the machine

27:54

work for you. Like the hormones make

27:57

your your biology do the heavy lifting

27:59

instead of you doing more workouts and

28:01

eating less food and whatever, right? Um

28:04

but it also will just help you be able

28:07

to think straight. I think that's like

28:08

my my overarching goal with all this is

28:11

yeah, get jacked, get energized, and you

28:14

know, make sure that you have mental

28:15

clarity so you can think straight, so

28:17

you can make more sound decisions. Um,

28:20

not saying this is going to happen for

28:21

everybody, but over the last year, I

28:23

finally came back to the church because,

28:25

and I think it was largely because I was

28:27

able to think straight. I have another

28:29

video where I was talking about how for

28:31

years I was just like anxious,

28:34

depressed, like victim mindset, wasn't

28:36

taking accountability for anything going

28:38

on in my life. I was just always trying

28:40

to get by, just trying to see what other

28:42

people could do for me and not really

28:43

trying to not trying to thrive and not

28:46

trying to create a situation where the

28:48

cup runth over, right? Where I I keep

28:50

saying that. Um, but I also like I I

28:52

went through a period where my uncle had

28:55

passed away suddenly at 51 from a

28:57

stroke. That's another reason I want

28:59

people to be in better health is because

29:00

of health and staying alive and

29:02

longevity into the later years of life

29:04

so we can enjoy more time with each

29:06

other because that's all that we have.

29:07

Um, but in that time I like back in the

29:10

day when my health was in shambles that

29:12

would have crushed me. Not that I wasn't

29:14

crushed. I absolutely was crushed. But I

29:17

think I was able to absorb the impact of

29:19

the gravity of that situation 10 times

29:22

better and and um you know be there for

29:26

my family who were feeling the pain as

29:28

well. And that that was like so big for

29:32

me. That was I can't I can't even put it

29:34

into words like how important it was to

29:36

me that I was able to be there for my

29:38

family and and I would have made some

29:39

really stupid decisions at the time.

29:41

probably wouldn't have been able to see

29:43

him at the last, you know, moments of

29:45

his life. I thank God was able to drive

29:47

up to New Hampshire and see him um you

29:50

know the last day that he was alive. But

29:52

it was because of my mindset and the

29:55

mental clarity uh which was a result of

29:58

my hormonal health and the way that my

30:01

life was going because of all the other

30:03

things that come with nurturing your

30:04

health that I was able to be there and

30:08

and experience that memory which I'll

30:10

hold close forever. Right? So, I don't

30:14

want to get too wild, but this is how

30:15

important this stuff is. Like, you don't

30:18

have to focus on all the hormones. I

30:21

also, yes, I'll do blood work with my my

30:23

clients. Like, if if they have the blood

30:26

work and they they're going to get it

30:27

done consistently or they have anything

30:28

to show me prior to working with me, I

30:31

will take a look at it because it can

30:32

always help us point out any glaring

30:34

opportunities for adjustment. But what I

30:37

talk about here, it's it's all

30:39

guidelines so that you don't have to be

30:40

focused on the metrics of these, right?

30:43

Like I don't want your testosterone to

30:45

turn into another body fat percentage or

30:47

another body weight on your like on your

30:49

scale. Um, you know, cuz really all that

30:52

matters at the end of the day is how you

30:53

look in the mirror and how you feel on a

30:55

day-to-day basis so that you can be more

30:58

uh be better and do more for the people

30:59

around you and and serve God is what I

31:02

would say nowadays, right? if you want

31:03

to talk about the universe or like just

31:05

people in general being a good person

31:07

like this is going to put you in a

31:08

better position to do that. Um and

31:10

there's again so many other hormones but

31:12

these are the ones that I truly focus on

31:14

the most and um you know [clears throat]

31:17

a lot of it just comes down to three

31:20

days a week of heavy lifting. You know

31:22

making sure that you're falling in love

31:24

with the process. So add weight or add a

31:26

rep to each individual set of every

31:28

workout. You only need about an hour.

31:30

Sometimes I'll go hour and a half just

31:31

because I like resting longer. About

31:33

three, four minutes rest in between all

31:35

sets. Um, eating a holistic diet. And I

31:38

can dive more into this in other videos

31:40

and stuff too, but animal-based little

31:43

bit of Ray Pete in there, right? And

31:44

then making it practical. Like I'll do

31:46

stuff that go against all of that

31:48

because I'm a human. I'm a guy in the

31:51

21st century, right? It's 2026 at the

31:54

time of this video. If you think I'm not

31:55

going to enjoy myself when I'm out to

31:57

eat with friends and family because I'm

31:58

not trying to kill my test. I'm not

32:00

trying to virtue signal like a vegan and

32:02

whatnot. I'm also not trying to think

32:04

about the ingredients. I'm trying to uh

32:06

enjoy, you know, the reason that we went

32:08

out and and participate in the essence

32:10

of why we're there, which is to

32:12

celebrate or be with each other or

32:15

unpack re, you know, unwind, whatever. I

32:18

don't want to be so focused on my diet

32:19

all the time. I do that 80 to 90% of the

32:22

time, especially when when I'm at home

32:24

alone, right? I have that saying, eat

32:26

the birthday cake at the birthday party,

32:27

but you don't have to crush a whole

32:29

sleeve of Oreos when you're at home 2

32:31

p.m. on Tuesday. That's my life. I do

32:34

all this stuff so that I can leverage my

32:36

health, leverage my hormones to get more

32:39

out of life. That way, I've got more

32:41

damage control and it sets me up almost

32:43

like with an insurance policy. My health

32:46

is at such a great extent that me going

32:49

out and eating with my friends, I don't

32:51

drink anymore, but if I did drink, it

32:53

wouldn't put such a damper on my

32:54

physique or how I feel and how I'm able

32:57

to operate throughout that week with all

32:59

the stuff that I have in terms of

33:00

responsibilities as somebody who is just

33:03

neglecting their health or, you know,

33:05

involuntarily hurting themselves, right?

33:08

Like a lot of people just aren't aware

33:09

of that stuff. And that's why I made

33:10

this video is to just get you focused on

33:12

it. So, the the holistic diet,

33:15

animal-based, meat, eggs, fruit, dairy,

33:17

high quality, 100% grass-fed, A2 and

33:20

raw, ideally B products like B pollen,

33:23

honey, uh royal jelly, minimal

33:26

supplements like keep your stack small,

33:29

at least magnesium so that you can sleep

33:30

better at night, vitamin D3 if you're

33:32

not out in the sun a ton, um other

33:34

things like chilleit, royal jelly, uh

33:37

you know, bee pollen, beeb bread, uh you

33:40

know, pine pollen. And I would say the

33:42

other thing, yeah, macros do play a

33:44

part, but the micros are going to be

33:45

more important. And that's why the

33:47

animal-based diet is going to be best.

33:48

But you still like not all chicken is

33:50

created equal. So don't just go and get

33:52

Purdue chicken that's pumped full of

33:54

antibiotics and all this water to make

33:55

the, you know, make the uh the the

33:58

weight of the product heavier so that

34:00

they can sell it for more money and

34:01

stuff. Like those guys at Purdue don't

34:03

have your health in mind. They're just

34:04

trying to make a buck, right? So local

34:07

farms, farmers markets, you're the

34:09

farmer. That's the the place that you

34:11

want to be in terms of shopping for

34:13

groceries and whatnot. Um, sleeping

34:16

obviously super important, sleeping in a

34:18

cold, pitch black room. Uh, and just

34:21

making sure that you get in bed with

34:24

enough time to fall asleep and get eight

34:26

hours of sleep. Don't just get into bed

34:28

eight hours before you have to wake up.

34:29

That's not taking care of yourself. Um,

34:31

and just choosing a bedtime over

34:33

choosing a wake up time is going to be

34:35

way more important in the long run

34:37

because this is all just things that are

34:39

going to help you lower stress hormones

34:42

and improve your reproductive hormones,

34:45

right? Catabolic, anabolic, anabolic,

34:50

the cup runth over building, increasing

34:53

energy production, feeling better, you

34:56

know, more energized, happier, you know,

34:58

you look better. that psyches you up

35:01

because your physiology affects your

35:03

brain health, which affects your

35:04

mindset, which affects your beliefs,

35:06

which affects the world around you as

35:08

you see it. And thus, you experience

35:11

life differently than the guy that

35:13

doesn't have this stuff in check. So, I

35:16

think I'll I'll leave it there. Um, if

35:18

you guys want me to further explain any

35:20

of this stuff, let me know in the

35:21

comments down below. Like and subscribe.

35:23

That would really help out for building

35:25

the channel. And, uh, yeah, this is just

35:27

the tip of the iceberg. If you're

35:28

somebody that actually wants to, you

35:30

know, get some personalized help from me

35:31

and work closely with me, um, there's

35:34

only so much that you can get out of

35:35

this video because it's a little bit

35:36

more general. Um, I find that, you know,

35:38

doing coaching really is is where people

35:41

thrive because you get the specific

35:43

circumstances in check and the specific

35:45

examples of like what I would do here,

35:48

um, what not to do and and how to really

35:50

think about it. You know, it's not

35:51

always about like this is exactly what

35:53

to do. It's like how do we apply it to

35:55

your specific circumstances? Plus, uh,

35:58

proximity is anabolic at the end of the

36:00

day. So, um, if that is you, there's

36:03

going to be a link down in the

36:04

description where you can book a call

36:05

with me, and it's going to be me, not

36:07

any other sales guy. We'll just talk. If

36:09

it doesn't make sense, we won't do it.

36:11

Um, but if not, I'll at least point you

36:12

in the right direction. So, uh, peace.

Interactive Summary

The video outlines a hormone-focused approach to fitness and overall well-being, emphasizing internal health over extreme external exertion. The speaker advocates for a strategy of 'anabolic priming,' which involves nurturing hormonal health—specifically thyroid function, testosterone, and DHT—while minimizing stress hormones like cortisol, estrogen, and prolactin. Instead of grueling daily exercise and restrictive dieting, the speaker suggests heavy training 3-4 times a week, a holistic animal-based diet, and lifestyle adjustments to build a sustainable, energized, and clear-headed life.
