It's going to be okay
370 segments
I don't know who need to hear this right
now, but odds are if you're watching
it's probably you.
You're going to be all right, my boy. I
know things don't make sense [music]
right now. It feels like all the hard
work you're putting in is for nothing
and you know, that girl may have left
you, your job may have fired you. I
don't know what it is, bro, but you're
going to be [music] all right. I promise
you. As long as you keep putting one
foot in front of the other, life is
going to make sense and pan out exactly
how it was meant to. But, you can't give
up. And never for a second [music] think
that your presence and your hard work
goes unnoticed. Proud of you, my boy.
Love you, dog. See you at the top.
>> You are a human being, not a machine
programmed to navigate life perfectly
every single day. You are going to say
the wrong thing sometimes. You're going
to make decisions you later outgrow.
You're going to be misunderstood in
[music] situations, trust the wrong
people, miss opportunities, react
emotionally, and have moments you
[music] wish you handled differently.
That does not make you broken. It's a
part of being human. I think a lot of
people secretly believe one mistake
means everything is ruined.
>> [music]
>> Like they've permanently damaged their
future, somehow disqualified themselves
from becoming the person they want to
be. But, life does not work like that.
Most people you admire have made
embarrassing mistakes, [music] bad
choices, wrong turns. The difference is
they kept going anyway.
You don't need to collapse every time
you fall short of perfection. [music]
Learn the lesson, take accountability,
apologize if it's necessary, and then
get up and keep moving. But, stop acting
like every mistake is proof that you're
failing in life. You are going to be
okay. Not because [music] you'll
suddenly become perfect, but because
human beings are built to adapt, learn,
recover, and continue forward. A bad
moment is not your identity. A setback
is not your entire story. One chapter
[music] is not the whole book. Please
give yourself some grace. You are
trying.
You are learning. And you are going to
be okay.
>> This is life.
This is what it is. Whatever it is, this
is it. And you want to get one, go at
it.
And when we're dead and we're buried and
we're gone,
that's it. That is it.
>> [music]
>> Game over.
You're a long time dead.
So, listen, why not try and make the
most of it? And I know it's not easy and
it's hard [music] out there.
And we all have our struggles, but look,
try and find a wee bit of enjoyment in
life.
Something that gives you a bit of
enjoyment. Something that feels like a
bit of fun, that makes you smile.
Because life is too damn short. And
every single day, every single hour,
we're losing people.
And you don't know when it's going to be
your turn. [music]
Life is so fragile and so precious.
So, try and enjoy it. Try and enjoy this
crazy ride.
It's going to be okay.
>> Please remember that your life is also
meant to be enjoyed.
Somewhere along the way we started
acting like life is just this waiting
room for the next level, the next
achievement, the next promotion, the
next version of ourselves.
We convince ourselves that once we get
there, then we'll relax, then we'll
breathe, then we will enjoy it. But
there always this a next. The grind-set
mentality can be powerful. Discipline is
powerful, ambition is powerful. There's
nothing wrong with wanting more for
yourself, [music] but if you are always
chasing, optimizing, pushing, and never
pausing, you will sprint past [music]
your own life. You'll miss the random
Tuesday nights, the dumb laughs, small
wins, the quiet mornings, the moments
that don't look impressive but feel
meaningful. And those are the moments
that actually make up your life. Success
is great, growth is great, but not at
the cost of [music] presence, not at the
cost of joy, not at the cost of
experiencing the very thing that you are
working so hard to build. You're allowed
to work hard and enjoy yourself. You are
allowed to have goals [music] and still
rest. You are allowed to want more and
still appreciate now. If your entire
existence is preparation for some future
moment, you'll wake up one day and
realize you never let yourself live in
the current one. The goal isn't to
escape your life.
The goal is to experience it. So, chase
your dreams, build your future, lock in
when you need to, but don't forget
[music] to look around. Because this
part, right now,
is also your life.
>> What if everything you're going through
is actually getting you ready? It's
preparing you for what you dream of,
what you asked for.
You see nothing in life is random. You
might think it is, but there's a reason
behind everything.
It doesn't matter whether it's when
something magical happens and you feel
on top of the world or when you have a
disaster and you feel like the pits.
It's not random. It's happened for a
reason.
You know, when you're deliriously
[music] happy or unbelievably miserable,
the times when you desperately wanted to
succeed at something important [music]
but you failed, like an interview for a
job,
it had a reason.
You know, whether you're losing or
winning in life, just remember it's not
a random occurrence. There's a reason.
When friends desert you, it isn't
accidental. There is a reason. When new
friends suddenly arrive in your life,
guess what? It's a reason.
All of it.
Whether it be lessons to learn and times
when you grow, they don't just happen,
but you won't realize it at the time
that none of it is a coincidence.
[music]
There are people you don't know yet
who'll teach you a lesson, and sometimes
it takes something really horrible and
painful for you to learn.
And all the while you won't realize
what's happening.
You're growing and it isn't by accident.
Be assured, be promised, you're on a
journey that will get more beautiful the
farther down the road of life you
travel. And eventually, you'll look back
and realize and appreciate that every
step you took was created only for you.
Why?
Because you're unique.
>> What I've learned is to to
>> [music]
>> to always keep going.
Always. You know, there's been times,
particularly early in my career, where
it just feels like this is the end. Um
but what I've come to find out is that,
you know, no matter what happens, the
storm eventually ends. [music]
And when the storm does end, you want to
make sure that you're ready.
And so, I I've really learned to put one
foot in front of the other,
uh good, [music] bad, or indifferent,
cuz eventually that storm
>> passes. So, come on, you got this.
>> Move on.
>> When a lot of times, you just wake up
blue, and you don't have that choice,
and it's not that easy. You just don't
turn it on or turn it off.
>> Mhm.
>> Once I started to realize what it was,
why I felt I didn't want to do anything,
why I was emotional about things, then
realized the power of
talking about it.
>> [music]
>> And how important that is.
And now, I can tell, "Hey,
it's your superpower. It's okay. Talk
about it. Be open. If you're feeling
blue, if you're feeling [ __ ] up, if
you don't have the answers, even if you
don't know why, cuz a lot of times,
sure, there's a thing
>> Yeah.
>> that this thing happened, therefore, I'm
depressed. But a lot of times, people
just wake up, and the skies are gray.
>> Yep.
>> And you don't know what to do. And one
of the most powerful things you can do
is, number one, know you're not alone.
Know that if you're experiencing it,
there's a lot of other people out there
[music] experiencing it, too. And talk
about it.
>> For my own personal benefit, what are
some questions do you think I should ask
myself?
>> If money and state is when no object,
what would I do?
If I was less afraid of other people's
opinions, what would I say?
What actually [music] makes me happy?
Does success make me happy?
What is my definition of success?
What is my definition of success if
money was taken out of the equation?
What are the things I'm hiding from
myself?
What are the emotions that I'm
unprepared to feel?
>> Everything worthwhile
is uphill.
Period.
End of story.
If you want to succeed [music] in life,
it's difficult.
It's not easy.
It's not fast.
It's not simple.
It's uphill.
>> Man, it's going to be what it's going to
be. It's going to happen how it's going
to happen.
You worrying about it ain't going to
change
>> [music]
>> Right? It's just going to make you lose
sleep about it, get stressed out about
it, but you worrying about it ain't
going to change the situation. Because
you just thinking about it, right? You
can't change it if it's going to happen
and manifest, it's going to happen and
manifest. We cross the bridge when it
gets there, right? But, when you worry
about something, more times than not it
creates a negative connotation and
perspective upon what you're worrying
about, right? It's like um I read a
quote once that said the fear of
something happening often times is more
powerful than it even happening.
Right? The fear of something happening
is even more powerful powerful [music]
than it actually happening. Often times
you worrying about the fear of something
happening that the fear and the thought
becomes more powerful than the actual
manifestation of it happening because
you worried about it for so long. You
can get to that point and it may not
even happen, right? Like worrying is
carrying tomorrow's load with today's
strength. Like stop worrying about it.
>> What would you say to
anybody that's lost direction [music] in
life?
>> A lot of people don't feel lost their
whole life, but they're just stuck in
this [music] like box until they're 70
and they're like look back and they're
like how did I get here?
You know, because they had such a
clearly defined path for them and maybe
it wasn't where they wanted to be. So,
being lost is an opportunity to stop and
slow down [music] and reflect where you
truly want to go. It will get better and
you'll figure it out. Just do what you
can
tell yourself up right now, learn who
you are in this season of life and
just trust that whatever will come will
come.
>> is No matter how much emotion and
feeling you may have or how much hurt
you may have, life has to go on. Life
doesn't stop for anybody. So, if you
don't process that [music] and
understand that, you're stuck in
whatever time period you got hurt
forever.
Forever.
>> Yes, sir.
>> Yes. So, grudges and anger and
negativity, I don't have time for it
because I'm living to do so much
positive things. I've got so much such a
positive outlook on everything else is
coming in the future. I can't I can't
[music] stand in the past and bathe in
what was wrong.
>> Just don't give up.
Just don't give up even if right [music]
now it doesn't make sense.
One day, I'm very, very sure when you
start to [music] see the connections and
things fall into place, you will maybe
also realize that couldn't have been
different.
Even if it's difficult, but
the only thing that I learned from the
martial art practices and also from my
own life is
giving up was just simply not the
question.
>> [music]
>> Was simply never an option. The winners
continue [music] where the losers stop.
>> I've been crushed.
You know, my older brother was shot and
murdered. I've been crushed. My other
brother died from cancer, you know, I've
been crushed. My mom gone 19 years old
[music] 2 years before I even turned
pro. She never lived to see any of this.
I've been crushed. My father's funeral
was the first one I went to. He died 2
weeks. Been crushed. Never had a
Christmas tree. Never saw Thanksgiving.
I've been on the road in hotel rooms by
myself for 15, 20, 30, 40 years seeking
an Olympic trophy. Wanted to be Mr.
Olympia. I've been crushed because I
haven't won them ever the Mr. Olympia.
Won everything in the world, but you go
back [music] and you get second, you get
second, you feel like they're just
giving you bones and everything. I've
been crushed, right? Because I've been
crushing myself chasing that. [music]
But God said, "I've been preparing you
for greater purpose than what you
wanted." You see? And we can't see it
when we're in that crushing phase, you
know? So, it's when we hold on through
the crushing, we find our purpose.
