48 Tools You Need to Know to Build a $100k/Month App
555 segments
If you want to make money with a mobile
app, but you're not utilizing all the
tools available to you today, you are
wasting your [music] time, money, and
energy. And frankly, you're getting
crushed by all the competition who are
leveraging these tools because they give
you such a big advantage. So, in this
video, I'm going to be showing you the
exact tech stack that I use to scale
Puff Count to 45k per month in recurring
revenue and my latest app posted to over
150k [music]
per month in revenue. I'm going to be
breaking down exactly why these tools
are important [music]
and how anyone can use them to build a
successful app in 2026. [music] And by
the way, I curated this list so almost
every tool is completely free to start
and cost only scales [music]
as you scale. Plus, in the end, I'll be
revealing a platform that top apps are
using [music] to get thousands of
creators and influencers to post about
their products without paying anything
upfront. [music] Let's get into it. Here
we have it, the ultimate mobile app tech
stack. We're going to be breaking down
all these tools very briefly for you and
each tool is broken down into its
different phase. All the phases you will
need to build a successful mobile app.
We have the research phase, the UI
design phase, the development phase, the
optimization phase, and of course, the
marketing and scaling phase, which is
the most important for building a
successful mobile app. So, let's get
into it. First things first, of course,
the legal and business setup. It's very
important to keep in mind that you can
launch your app under an LLC. You can do
it under your individual name, but
launching an launching your app under an
LLC will give you much more flexibility
when you're making business moves in the
future. And on top of that, it will
protect you against any claims against
your business. It will protect protect
your personal name. So, to set up an
LLC, I like to use Doola. Doola is great
because not only will they help you set
up an LLC, but they will also take care
of your bookkeeping and your taxes if
you want. On top of the legal and
business setup, Apple and the Android
store will also require you to have a
website with a terms of service and
privacy policy. Termly is the best way
to auto generate these.
You answer a couple questions about your
product and they will auto generate
terms of service and privacy policy that
you can use on your website to get
approved in the App Store. Now that we
got the boring stuff out of the way,
let's move into the research phase of
the tools. Sensor Tower, one of the most
important tools, will allow you to spy
on your app competition and see exactly
how many downloads and how much revenue
any app in the world has made in the
previous month. Use this as a tool as
you are validating your app ideas. If
there are other apps in the space making
a ton of money, it's probably good that
you are entering the same space. We also
have Google Trends. Google Trends is
very valuable for searching up keywords
related to your app. For example, let's
look up quit vaping here. We can look at
the worldwide search volume for this
specific phrase, quit vaping. It's up
into the right. Use Google Trends as a
way to validate search intent for the
problem or the topic that your app falls
under. Phase one and all the tools under
it is the research phase. The research
phase is very important for validating
your app idea, making sure that people
want what you're building, and also
validating that there is demand for your
product. All these tools will help you
validate your idea, demand for the
product, and the marketing angles that
you can take for your app. Next we have
Flippa and Acquire. Flippa and Acquire
are marketplaces where people are buying
and selling app businesses. So you can
go onto Flippa or Acquire and you can
see all of the apps being sold
currently. Here's a QR code reader that
made it $11 million in the last year and
they're selling this product for $30
million. Storage cleaner, you can scroll
through here all day long and you can
see other apps that are succeeding and
looking to be sold. You can see how much
they've been selling for. You You even
get a deep dive into their analytics.
It's crazy that this exists, but you can
leverage this in your market research.
Next, we have viral ad library. This is
a tool where you can look at other apps
top performing marketing videos. You can
filter by platforms or by categories,
and you can see all of these apps most
popular organic and paid ads content. On
the Facebook ads library, you can see
all the active ads that your competitors
may have right now. This is an absolute
cheat code. And spoiler alert, they're
not running these ads because they're
not profitable. No company is spending
money consistently on ads that aren't
profitable. So, this is your market
research for your paid ads right here.
TikTok also has a very nice ads library.
Very similar to Facebook, you can filter
by countries, by ad types, and you can
search in keywords related to your niche
to see the top performing ads here.
TikTok also has a separate website
called the top ads. Very similar, but
it's a little bit less granular, and you
can see general categories here, and you
can see the top ads in each category.
Another hidden gem by TikTok
is their creative insights. You can type
in different keywords and hashtags, and
you can see how popular these certain
keywords are over time. This is a very
good place to be watching for new viral
trends. Next, phase two, UI design. The
design, the quality, the look and feel,
the user experience of your product is
so very important. If your product feels
premium, if it feels clean, if it's easy
to navigate, if there's a good user
experience, the conversion rate will be
much higher on your product. People will
trust you more. They will be more likely
to spend money if your product looks and
feels top tier. Very important. Of
course, if you've been watching the
channel, you know what I'm going to say.
99designs. On this document, I have a
coupon code. You can get $20 off your
first design contest. You can launch
design contests for your products and
get dozens, if not hundreds, of
different designs, and you only pay for
your favorite one. This is by far the
best way to get high-quality
professional app designs done. Then we
have paywall screens. This tool will
allow you to spy on the top-performing
paywalls of any app. If you type in any
app here, you can see their exact
paywall, you can see how much revenue
each app is making, and you can even see
the different price points that they are
AB testing.
Use this to study the top-performing
paywalls in your space and replicate
these. Then we have screens design that
will allow you to spy on top app
onboardings. This is one of my favorite
tools because you can find any app on
the store. Again, you can see exactly
how much money they're making, how many
installs they've driven, and you can see
every single one of their screens inside
of the app. This is Airbnb. This is
their entire using user onboarding. This
is every single screen inside of their
app. What you can also do is you can
take these screens and you can copy them
over to Figma to take further
inspiration from these designs.
They have a nice little video feature
here. You can walk through and watch a
video of their entire onboarding and all
the screens inside of their app. Screens
design is a tool that you should be
using. UX Pilot is an amazing option if
you want to design your product with AI.
You can even upload wireframes or
sketches here, and AI will build out
these designs. Stitch is another amazing
option. Stitch by Google is another
amazing option if you also want app
designs here. Stitch is cool because you
can upload files, you can upload a
website URL. Stitch will build user
interfaces with AI. And this again is a
tool by Google, so you know it's going
to be top tier. The final AI design tool
that I recommend is Uizard, and again,
you can use this to build your app user
interface with AI. Figma is a tool that
we use at Posted every single day, and
this is the hub for all of our designs.
As you can see, we have our entire app
broken down in Figma screen by screen.
And Figma is an amazing tool because
once you have the designs in here, you
can drag and drop these simple elements
and you can build additional screens on
your own. Figma is a tool that can be
used by anyone once you have a core
design in here. And finally, a great
resource to use when you're thinking
about your user experience or user
interfaces is growth.design.
This website has amazing case studies on
user psychology. They have a UX design
course, a user interface design course,
and ultimately a bunch of useful
resources and case studies around top
apps in the space. Moving on to phase
three, development. Building your app,
making it come to life.
The first thing, of course, that you
need is an Apple developer account. You
will use App Store Connect to manage all
of your apps, and of course, you might
be using Xcode to develop and deploy
your apps. ChatGPT, no explanation
needed there. That is your personal
assistant. But one tool that people
sleep on a lot is the pre-order feature
that Apple has launched. You can move
your apps into pre-order before they're
finalized. You can send pre-orders to
your app, and the day that your app
launches, all those pre-orders will turn
into installs. Another underutilized
tool by Apple is their small business
program. If you apply for the App Store
small business program, instead of Apple
taking 30%, they will only take 15%
of your total app revenue. This is so
very important for any small developer
out there. And as long as you're under
$1 million in annual sales, you can
apply and you will be approved to this
program, and you will save on 50% of the
Apple App Store fee. If you're not doing
this as a small developer, you
absolutely need to be enrolled here.
Upwork is a platform where you can find
and hire talented freelancers,
designers, really anybody that you need
in your business.
I've used Upwork extensively, and I have
met and worked with some incredible
incredible freelancers who still work on
my team today. A cheat code with Upwork,
I always like to hire from Eastern
Europe. It's lower cost than US
development talent and they still
produce very high quality code. So, if
you need something done that you don't
have the experience for, use Upwork.
Framer has amazing templates here that
you can pick from to build a very clean
mobile app landing page for your app. If
you go to ThemeForest, you can actually
browse through and purchase pre-built,
fully developed app templates. And you
can customize these and build off of
them. Cloud Code, of course, the number
one tool used by developers right now to
write code with AI. And of course,
Cursor, also a top tool used to write
code with AI. You have Firebase, which
is the best and kind of the standard
back-end for most mobile apps. And
Firebase is definitely the best option
and the most widely used tool for a
back-end database. They handle user
authentication, they handle analytics,
they even handle push notifications. So,
as you can see, we use Firebase to send
push notifications to all of our users.
Firebase is also connected to Google
Analytics, so you can track events here
and you can run Google Ads more
effectively. Next, of course, we have
Roark, which is the best-in-class vibe
coding tool right now. Roark, and
especially Roark Max, will one-shot MVPs
of mobile apps and you can ship them
directly into the App Store. We can take
a look here, I built this recipe builder
on Roark and what we can do is we can
publish directly to the App Store, we
can test on our device, we have full
access to the entire code base here, and
we can even export to GitHub. So, if
you're vibe coding, you're building an
MVP, Roark is the go-to. Next, phase
four, one of the most important phases
of actually scaling your app, the
optimization phase. Here, we're going to
focus on the revenue and subscription
analytics. Of course, the number one
tool to AB test paywalls is Superwall.
You can AB test paywalls and now
onboarding flows without pushing updates
to the App Store. I use Superwall
extensively when we were scaling Puff
Count. We tested hundreds of different
paywalls to find the optimal pricing and
wording to maximize our LTV. And again,
they just launched their onboarding flow
tool where you can AB test onboarding
flows along with your paywalls all in
one tool without shipping any updates.
Next, we have RevenueCat which will give
you subscription and revenue analytics.
This tool is very important for tracking
all of your revenue events and it will
give you very important tools like your
customers lifetime value. Next, we have
a couple different options here for
mobile measurement partners, an MMP. MMP
is very important when you start to
scale on paid ads because they will send
the events from your app back to the
paid ads platform. With iOS 14 and the
privacy updates, you cannot do this on
your own. You need to implement some
sort of MVP. There are three main
options here for MVPs. You have
AppsFlyer, you have Adjust, and also
Branch. AppsFlyer is the one with all
the bells and whistles. This is the
enterprise solution. It is also the most
expensive. This is what we used at Puff
Count. Adjust is another good option and
of course, you also have Branch. All
these will essentially do the same
thing. They will help you track your app
installs, where those installs are
coming from, and feed those deeper
events back to your ad platforms like
Meta or TikTok ads. And next, of course,
we have Amplitude. Amplitude is a very
flexible software so you can build
certain dashboards for whatever types of
events you need inside of your app.
Amplitude or any product like it is an
absolute must when you're focusing on
retention inside of your app. You can
build KPIs. You can build charts and
dashboards to understand what your
highest spending users or your highest
retaining users are doing inside of your
product. And now, phase number five, the
most important phase of building and
scaling a successful app business, of
course, the marketing and scaling phase.
Marketing is 95% of the success of any
mobile app because if you can't get
eyeballs, if you can't get impressions
on your app, you will never be
successful. Now, before we get into the
marketing and scaling phase, I want to
emphasize how closely this aligns with
the research phase. As you remember in
the research phase, we're looking at the
Facebook ads library, the TikTok ads
library, TikTok top ads, viral ad
library. That is how you're going to
figure out what type of content to
create and what type of marketing angles
you should be taking. Once that is ready
for you though, one of the most
underutilized tools in the entire space
is ManyChat. This tool is an absolute
cheat code when you are marketing on
Instagram. When you are marketing on
Instagram, ManyChat will auto DM anyone
who comments on your reel. I know we've
all probably seen those reels where the
person goes, "Comment XYZ word and I
will send you something, the link to the
product, whatever it is." You can do
that too with ManyChat and I promise you
will drive higher conversions and you
will boost the engagement of every
single one of your posts if you use this
tool. I'm using ManyChat extensively on
my personal Instagram, one that I use to
promote my products, and as you can see,
every one of my videos has a super high
number of comments. And that is because
we are saying, "Comment some keyword"
and then we'll DM the commenters some
sort of link. This is the easiest way to
drive real conversions and additional
engagement to your videos. Every comment
is a positive signal for Instagram so
they will push your content further
because you are getting more engagement
on your product. If you haven't checked
out ManyChat, highly recommend you do
it. It is an absolute cheat code. Next,
we have Tweet Hunter. Tweet Hunter is an
X automation tool. You can draft and
schedule tweets using this tool and you
can also send auto DMs using Tweet
Hunter. If you are not leveraging
Twitter and Tweet Hunter to grow not
only your personal brand but your
product, you are missing out big time.
Over the last year on Twitter alone,
I've pushed 43 million impressions,
530,000
profile visits, and I've grown to over
40,000 followers on my Twitter account,
on my X account. And my X account is
basically driving people to my current
app, my current product. So, every
profile visit, every impression on my
tweets matters and this is driving an
insane amount of customers to my
product. Start leveraging Twitter, start
leveraging Tweet Hunter. And then next,
of course, we have the paid ads
platforms. We have TikTok ads, Meta ads,
and Snapchat ads. I highly recommend you
start with either TikTok or Meta first
and then once you scale on one of those
platforms then you can expand to the
rest. But I shouldn't have to explain
these TikTok ads, Meta ads, and Snapchat
ads. Use these to amplify the reach of
your content. When you find organic
pieces of content that perform well for
you and your products or your mobile
app, run them as paid ads. Simply run
your best performers as paid ads and you
will grow so much faster. I have a
detailed paid ads guide on my channel,
so go check that out. I'll drop it in
the description or something and I'll
show you exactly how to set up effective
paid ads campaigns. Next, we have
Beehiiv. This is by far the best email
newsletter and automation tool. Whether
you're building a waitlist for your
products or you are using email for
remarketing, Beehiiv is by far the best.
As you can see, this is our latest
mobile app posted. We have 26,000 email
subscribers here. And the way we
leverage this is we send newsletters,
but we also have automations. We have a
welcome sequence automation where we're
educating our app users on how to best
use the app. And this runs on autopilot
in the background. So, we are able to
nurture and educate each and every
single one of our app users on how to
use our product best. This automation
has a bunch of different steps and it
has been very effective in activating
our app users. Next, we have Snabbtik
and InDown. These are very useful tools
if you need to download TikTok videos
directly from your profile or Instagram
Reels directly from your profile. You
can use this to download your TikToks
and then post them on Instagram, post
them on X, post them on YouTube Shorts,
whatever it may be. Useful tools if you
need them. Next, we have App Follow.
This is a very useful tool because you
will be able to track not only your ASO,
but your app store ratings. You can
track how your app is ranking for
certain keywords, you can track your
competitors' keywords, and you can also
automate and reply to your app store
ratings. App Follow is completely free,
so there's no reason you shouldn't have
this set up. You just connect it to your
App Store Connect account, you can see
all of your analytics here. As you can
see, we are using App Follow to track
our ratings over time and you can see
the overall displayed rating, globally.
You can break it down by country, as
well. Very useful to see how updates are
affecting your App Store rating. Next,
we have Appify. This tool is a little
bit more in the weeds, a little bit more
technical, but very, very useful if you
need anything automated. On Appify, they
have the store, which has pre-built
automations, pre-built scraping tools,
pre-built lead generation tools.
Basically, anything you can imagine is
already automated and exists on Appify.
So, you can run any of these scrapers or
any of these automation tools, and you
can get some interesting automations
built. Last, but not least, of course,
we have Posted, the easiest and fastest
way to get real content from real
creators. On Posted, you can get started
for free, and you can launch creator
campaigns for free, and you only pay if
those creators get you results. Right
now, we are running a CPM campaign where
we are paying creators a $10 flat rate
and a $1 CPM, and we have pushed over
200,000 views, we've gotten 300 videos
submitted, and as you can see, we can
even track deeper analytics. We're
tracking our Firebase analytics for
first time open. So, we're actually able
to track our views against our first
time opens, and you can customize these
charts here and understand exactly which
content and which creators are driving
the biggest results for your products.
This is all on autopilot. We just
launched the campaign, and the content
flows in automatically. So,
if you're looking for creator content,
this is the place to go. That was my
ultimate tech stack, every single tool
that I use to actively build, market,
and scale every single one of my mobile
apps. If you watched this far, drop the
video a like because you probably
enjoyed it, and subscribe to the channel
because I'll be dropping more videos
just like this very soon. See you on the
next one. Peace.
