there are six proven methods that will

0:02

actually get you into an Ivy League or

0:04

MIT now most people think getting in is

0:06

for luck or Legacy or Geniuses but it

0:09

turns out it has nothing to do with that

0:11

because once I got into MIT I realized

0:13

everyone else didn't just get into MIT

0:16

they got into Harvard Stanford and

0:18

everything else this means there's a

0:20

pattern here something very specific

0:22

that these top institutions are looking

0:24

for these are secrets which are well

0:26

known and fiercely protected by the rich

0:28

and upper middle class they know

0:30

something that you

0:32

don't for those of you who don't know me

0:35

welcome to the channel subscribe my name

0:37

is Kiren and I'm a sophomore at MIT and

0:39

I was the first person from my high

0:40

school to go to MIT today I'm going to

0:42

show you the reality of college

0:43

admissions to top institutions so you

0:45

can use this to gain an advantage in

0:47

your application with that let's get

0:49

into method number one which is RSI RSI

0:52

stands for a research Science Institute

0:54

and it's a competitive summer program

0:56

where a 100 of the world's most

0:57

accomplished high school students gather

0:59

at MIT and experien the entire research

1:01

cycle from start to finish basically

1:03

participants will learn from

1:04

distinguished professors draft a

1:07

research plan and deliver a report on

1:09

their findings now as I was researching

1:11

RSI I realized there were actually

1:13

YouTube videos about how to get into RSI

1:16

which I think is saying something about

1:17

how important it is MIT has CPW and Yale

1:21

has Bulldog days for accepted students

1:23

to visit their campuses so when I went

1:25

to these campus previews I met so many

1:27

people who had done RSI that's when I

1:29

really realized RSI is a cheat code to

1:31

these top institutions that I had no

1:33

idea about and that's why I want you

1:35

guys to know about it so you're not left

1:37

like me even in class at MIT today I

1:40

still PE see people with RSI laptop

1:42

stickers and shirts so this is

1:44

definitely a program to take note of for

1:46

all the ivy leaks the second way to get

1:49

into a top institution is through a

1:50

feeder high school or Prep School a

1:52

feeder High School is usually an elite

1:55

High School which the upper class has

1:56

access to and provides a nice path into

1:58

a top tier Institution now I will say

2:01

you do not have to be rich to get into

2:03

these schools I'm from Illinois and imsa

2:05

is a public school that you have to

2:07

apply to in high school to get in of

2:09

course some of these schools are based

2:11

on where you live like being in a nice

2:13

neighborhood which is how the rich have

2:14

a little bit of an advantage if your

2:16

school sent five or more students to an

2:18

Ivy League last year you're probably in

2:19

a feeder school and have Advantage when

2:21

it comes to College counseling

2:23

experience connections and you should

2:25

absolutely be fighting to be at the top

2:27

of your class to stand out now for those

2:29

of you who don't go to feeder schools I

2:31

understand because I didn't either it's

2:33

absolutely not a requirement to go to

2:35

one now I would consider applying to

2:39

these feeder high schools just like you

2:40

would at College some even offer

2:42

scholarships if you can't afford to go

2:44

to them look below the surface and use

2:45

the resources you have to overcome your

2:48

challenges all right the next method is

2:49

going to be Sports and Athletics now

2:52

everyone knows the Obby League loves

2:53

their Sports and there's rumors that the

2:55

academic requirements are lowered for

2:57

athletes but the tip here is to to

3:00

actually do a sport that's more Niche

3:02

again this advantages Rich high schools

3:03

and people that have access to these

3:05

sports but what I'm talking about is

3:06

like rowing water polo squash lacrosse

3:10

golf fencing ice hockey all of these

3:12

sports are recruited for by IVs but

3:14

there's less competition because not

3:16

everyone can afford the equipment or

3:18

have access to the coaches required for

3:20

these Sports my high school actually had

3:22

none of these Sports except golf but

3:24

there's still good news the more common

3:26

sports like basketball football soccer

3:28

they're all still recruited for but you

3:30

have to be extremely good at these

3:31

Sports because there's more competition

3:34

my roommate actually went to Nationals

3:35

for track and field in high school and

3:37

that definitely helped his application

3:40

but that was no easy feat and very few

3:41

can actually get this far all right the

3:43

fourth proven method may be more

3:45

specific to MIT but that is

3:47

international olympiads this means IMO

3:50

International math Olympiad chemistry

3:53

biology physics Computing I'm sure

3:55

there's more I'm not too familiar with

3:56

these but there are tons of Olympiad

3:58

kids here at MIT this method can be more

4:01

accessible to International students by

4:03

showing your potential to these top tier

4:05

institutions you will want to place at

4:07

least like bronze or above which is very

4:09

difficult if you can get that high your

4:11

chances of getting into these top tier

4:13

institutions Skyrocket there are tons

4:15

and tons of Olympiad kids here at MIT

4:18

the fifth method is the one I personally

4:20

used without knowing and that is the

4:23

first robotics Deans List award those of

4:26

you who don't know first robotics is an

4:27

organization where teams of high school

4:29

school students and younger can compete

4:32

in robotics competitions I was really

4:34

lucky to get involved with this in

4:36

elementary school and worked my way up

4:38

through the program where I learned tons

4:40

of skills like like teamwork and

4:42

technical skills like Java CAD

4:44

Electronics right now there are hundreds

4:46

of thousands of students on first

4:47

robotics teams in order to stand out

4:50

there's an award in first called the

4:51

Deans List award I was one of the 20

4:53

people in the world to win that award in

4:55

2022 and that was for my work using

4:57

robotics to help my Greater Community

4:59

and for my leadership on my robotics

5:01

team I didn't just win that award so I

5:03

could go to MIT but once I did win I

5:05

realized that opportunities at MIT and

5:07

Yale really opened up several of us who

5:09

won this award now attend these

5:11

institutions where we can further our

5:13

skills in engineering and hopefully

5:14

change the world I don't recommend doing

5:16

first just so you can win the Deans List

5:18

award because first of all that's a team

5:20

nominated award and your team has to see

5:22

you as a leader and second everything

5:24

that was good from first came from my

5:26

experiences in the program where I

5:28

wasn't focused on winning this award but

5:30

how I could help my team all right the

5:31

final tip is donate a building to

5:34

Harvard thank you for watching And

5:38

subscribe just playing just playing guys

5:41

you know I got to get you with some good

5:44

advice but the final tip is going to be

5:47

very difficult because that is changing

5:51

the world I met an international student

5:53

here from Africa who taught his entire

5:56

class calculus because his teachers went

5:59

on on strike this is the kind of

6:01

we're talking about it will be like

6:03

publishing some research having a

6:04

best-selling novel curing cancer some

6:07

relevant patent you run an app with

6:09

millions of users this is the kind of

6:12

stuff that could be good for

6:13

international students as well because

6:15

there are some serious issues in the

6:16

world that you might be more driven to

6:18

fix the key with this one is to

6:19

communicate it effectively in the

6:21

application if You' have done this

6:23

you're already qualified to get in you

6:26

just have to write your essays well if

6:28

you're doing this you're the type of

6:29

person The Ivy Leagues was invented for

6:31

and you're giving us all impostor

6:33

syndrome so if you can communicate what

6:35

you did effectively these top colleges

6:37

would be glad to have you there are many

6:39

more ways to get into top tier

6:40

institutions like science fair

6:42

nonprofits Etc but these are the proven

6:44

methods that I've seen work over and

6:46

over again the purpose of this video is

6:49

not to discourage but to uncover and

6:51

level the playing field for those of us

6:53

who may not have the guidance um going

6:55

into the college application process

6:57

there are a lot of people who are bright

6:58

and absolutely deserve a chance at going

7:00

to these top tier institutions thank you

7:02

all for watching if you got to the end

7:04

let's see comment the

7:07

word

7:08

finished and I will reply to you now go

7:11

ahead and watch this video right here
