Samsung has just sent out the invites

for their next Galaxy Unpacked event,

which is happening literally next week

on the 22nd of July. And I will actually

be attending it. So, if you're going to

be there, feel free to come over and say

hello. And this is going to be the big

one, the launch event for the Galaxy Z

Fold 8 with a completely new form

factor, this one, and also the new

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. So, get the

popcorn ready, guys, because these are

the final leaks and rumors on the Z Fold

8 and the Fold 8 Ultra. And two of those

leaks shocked me massively, because one

of them actually fixes the biggest issue

that Samsung has been battling for the

past 7 years, and the other one, um, is

the price. More on that later. But

first, uh, what's going on with that

naming scheme? Well, you see, the first

generation of the Fold had an almost

square 10 by 9 aspect ratio for the

internal screen. The Z Fold 8, however,

is set to be moving away from that to a

much wider 4 by 3 aspect ratio, just

like Apple's upcoming foldable, the

iPhone Ultra. Okay, Daniel, but does

that mean that the book-style foldable

is dead now? Well, no, because Samsung

is actually renaming their classic

foldable to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

More on that later. So, to recap, the

normal foldable is now the Galaxy Z Fold

8, the wider version, and then the

higher-end version is the previous

style, which is now called the Z Fold 8

Ultra. So, keep all this in mind because

the differences do actually go way

deeper than just the name and the form

factor. So, what about their actual

design? Well, first off, let's talk

about the Z Fold 8, which is set to come

at a weight of just 201 g. That's 14 g

less than even the Z Fold 7, the world's

lightest foldable. As for the thickness

when unfolded, this is rumored to be at

around 4.5 mm thin as opposed to 4.2 on

the Z Fold 7. Now, the back does only

have two cameras instead of three, with

the flash literally being underneath

instead of uh to the side like before.

But, this design is unmistakably Samsung

and I do quite like it. But, do let me

know, guys, do you prefer this wider

type of foldable or this standard one

that we've had for the past 7 years now?

Speaking [music] of, let's move on to

the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. And while the

weight is set to remain exactly the same

at 215 g, it may be getting even thinner

at 4.1 mm when unfolded from 4.2, which

is just crazy. But, the best part is

that this slightly thinner design

actually comes with a much larger

battery. More on that later. Now, the

back is staying pretty much the same

though with a triple lens camera setup

and the flash right next to them. As for

the colors, both get cream and graphite,

while the Z Fold 8 adds lavender and

pistachio.

>> And the Fold 8 Ultra gets two exclusive

shades, green shadow and violet shadow,

according to the latest leaks. But, the

color is probably the last thing that

you will notice because the display is

where Samsung may have fixed the oldest

problem. You see, the Galaxy Z Fold 8

Ultra is actually set to be keeping

largely the same display as the Galaxy Z

Fold 7. So, 8 in when unfolded and 6.5

in on the outer display. Now, this

regular Z Fold 8, however, is set to

come in at a new 7.6 in panel when

unfolded, also in a new 4x3 aspect

ratio, and then 5.5 in when folded in a

16x10 aspect ratio. And here's the part

that I wasn't really expecting. We may

be seeing a higher resolution inner

display on the Ultra specifically. That

jump would push the PPI to around 500.

And that would make it on par with the

S26 Ultra, yet another Ultra

differentiator. And I expect all of

these four display panels to be the best

ones in the class. So, 120 Hz OLED, high

brightness, all the bells and whistles,

no matter which one you use. Now,

speaking of the brightness, the Z Fold

8, so this one is said to keep the same

2,600 nits of brightness on both the

internal and also the external screen.

Now, the Ultra is said to be pushing

that to a maximum of 3,600 nits on the

main display, which would be insane for

foldables. Although competitors like the

Honor Magic V6 have surpassed that up to

5,000 nits on paper, in person, I still

believe that the Samsung one may

actually be a bit brighter. Because it's

also said to be adopting a new

anti-reflective coating, the same one

that we've had on the S24, S25, and the

S26 Ultra. And I got to be honest, guys,

this will make a world of a difference,

especially if it's something similar to

the Oppo Find N6. You know, this is a

plastic display at the end of the day,

so it's more susceptible to glare, but

if Samsung does something similar to the

Find N6, then this will be such a nice

display to use. That's especially if you

pair it with a nice-looking wallpaper

Fold 8's displays. The biggest display

improvement really is that both of these

foldables are said to come with

creaseless displays, finally. Now, you

cannot see this on our dummy unit here,

but yes, it's said to be creaseless. And

as you can see from this leaked video

from Momentary Digital,

this is basically creaseless, like even

better than the Oppo Find N6, which was

just amazing. That combined with the

anti-reflective coating would be a

massive improvement, but we're only

halfway through because that battery

jump and the price are still to come.

But first, let's talk about the

performance. The chip here is pretty

straightforward for both models, we're

said to be getting the Snapdragon 8 and

Legion 5 for Galaxy. That's also in

every single region. As for the RAM, it

will most likely be 12 GB and 16

depending on the storage that you pick

with higher tiers getting the full 16 GB

of RAM. Although last year only the 1 TB

version had 16 gigs, so hopefully the

512 gets it too this time. But with all

the global RAM shortages, yeah, I'm not

going to be holding my breath. So, what

about the cameras? Well, this is where

the Ultra starts pulling ahead as it's

said to come with the same triple camera

setup as before with the main module

being the 200 MP sensor that we also

have on the Fold 7 and the S26 Ultra,

whereas the regular Fold 8 may only come

with a 50 MP sensor. Same one as on the

standard S26 model. Now, we may also be

getting a 3x 10 MP telephoto on the

Ultra. Although if it's the same tiny 1

over 3.94-in sensor that Samsung's been

using for years,

uh yeah, it's not going to be great. And

finally, both the Fold 8 and the Fold 8

Ultra are said to be receiving a brand

new 50 MP ultrawide camera up from the

12 MP sensor on the Fold 8. Again, very

likely the same one as on the base S26

model. As for the selfie camera, uh we

should be seeing two 10 MP sensors, one

on the inner screen, one on the outer uh

with pretty much no changes compared to

the Z Fold 7's one. We've also seen

reports of a camera assistant update

with a new feature called Mirror View

which will be exclusive to the new

foldables. I'm still not really sure

what that does compared to, you know,

the dual view modes that we've got now,

but I guess we'll we'll have to wait and

see. As for new and unique features,

aside from everything that I've already

mentioned like the enter effective

coating and the crease of the display,

we may also be seeing the S Pen making a

return specifically on the Fold 8 Ultra.

That was missing from the Fold 7, so

thumbs up for that. Okay, now remember

when I said earlier that the Z Fold 8

Ultra is getting thinner while also

getting a larger battery? Well, the Fold

series has really had the same old 4400

mAh mA power battery for years now. But

this year, it is finally said to be

jumping to 5000 mA power

in a thinner phone as well. Now, we

haven't really had any reports of

Samsung finally switching to silicon

carbon tech, but I'm pretty sure they

will because last year they made the

fold significantly thinner, they dropped

the volume by about 20% and they kept

the capacity the same. But now, we're

getting a 30% increase and an even

thinner body. I feel like it has to be

silicon carbon this time. Now, we're

also said to be seeing an increase in

charging speeds up to 45 watts on the Z

Fold 8 Ultra from the 25 watts that we

have today. As for the regular Z Fold 8,

it seems to be getting a 4800 mA power

battery according to Ice Universe on X.

And also, the same 45 watt charging

speeds as the Fold 8 Ultra. And that all

sounds great, especially when you

consider that we should be seeing these

next week on the 22nd of July. And then

I'm assuming that the pre-orders will

start that same week and then they will

start shipping the week after.

Now, the other thing that I teased at

the start of this video is the price.

And

the thing is, these will be very

expensive, but not quite as bad as we

initially thought. And that's because

the Fold 8 Ultra may be seeing a $100

bump from the Z Fold 7 to $2099

for the base 256 GB model, while the

standard or the wide Fold 8 essentially,

that one could start from $1899.

But there you go, that's about

everything to expect from the upcoming Z

Fold 8 and the Z Fold 8 Ultra. I'm

personally super excited for both of

these, especially the Z Fold 8, the

wider version because that's a new form

factor that's also giving us a sneak

peek at the upcoming iPhone Ultra as

well. So then of course, the Fold 8

Ultra is kind of like a 7S.

It does give us some nice upgrades, but

it's not that big of a jump. Now, I will
