This is a Bloomberg money minute. Every day one of those Easyjet flights
in Europe. Well we'll see how long their prices
remain cheap. Easyjet has agreed to be acquired by US
private equity firm Castle Lake, in a deal that values the UK budget airline
at $6.7 billion. Its board of directors and Castle Lake
say they reached the agreement in principle after the carrier had
previously rejected four earlier bids from the firm.
Easyjet shares right now were up 9% elsewhere on Wall Street.
Everything is up. The Dow up just fractionally while the
S&P is up 7/10 of a percent. The Nasdaq is up 1%.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has opened an investigation into StubHub,
following reports that some fans who bought World Cup tickets through the
resale platform had their orders cancelled just before kickoff.
The company has blamed ghost ticketing problems on issues connected to FIFA's
own ticketing platform. Soccer fans say they were stranded
