A Bra Trend Made Me Money
29 segments
There was a time when women, there was
this cultural shift away from structured
bra. For 30 years women have been
wearing structured bras, bras with wires
in them. And kind of who made that
popular, the push-up bra, Victoria's
Secret. But then like, I don't know, 12,
15 years ago, there was this cultural
shift towards the bralette. The bralette
is a bra without wires in it. And so
like, it's a massive cultural shift that
women were going through where they were
going from wired bras to bralettes or in
some cases no bra at all. So I saw a
pickup in the number of people using the
word bralette on social media. And at
first I was like, what the hell is a
bralette? And then I realized what it
was and I went really deep into the
conversation. I was like, oh man, this
this is actually a mega cultural shift.
This is going to be devastating for
Victoria's Secret and it's going to be
awesome for Aerie. Aerie was the first
company to really push bralettes. And so
yeah, I made a long trade on Aerie, made
a short trade on Victoria's Secret.
Again, it's just like seeing the world
unfold and connecting dots.
